Hurricane Swimming

Family Fitness and Aquatic Center offers a youth indoor
swim team program from September through May for children
up to age 18.
Our goal is to assist swimmers in developing
their interest in swimming, improving their swim skills,
preparing them for future competitive swimming and developing
their enjoyment of swimming as a life long fitness activity.

What You Need To Know...
- Swimmers must be able to swim 25yds freestyle and backstroke in order to participate in Hurricane White.
- Additional swim requirements are required for other levels. All swimmers will be grouped by ability within
their scheduled practice time. Adjustments may be made by coaching staff if the childs swimming ability
necessitates a change in practice grouping.

Head Coach
Amethyst Tymoch
is a familiar face at Health Unlimited, having taught swim lessons,
youth and adult stroke clinics, swim team and masters swimming activities
during her time here. Coach Amethyst has turned a fledgling swim
team into to a successful and popular program that burst onto the
competitive scene with an impressive 2006-2007 season. Prior to
coming to Health Unlimited, Amethyst was a youth swim league coach
at the Cincinnati Sports Club for four years while also teaching
swim clinics and a masters program.
"Coach A." is currently one of Health Unlimited's
most successful and sought after swim lesson instructors for all
age brackets while also coaching our highly popular masters swim
program for adults 18 and over. Her enthusiasm for the sport of
swimming is contagious and is routinely passed along to the children
and adults she coaches. Her ability to get the most of each individual
swimmer and her relationships with her swimmers set her apart and
establish her as a top level coach.
With the help of her experienced and well-qualified
assistant coaches, Amethyst continues to build on the successes
of past seasons establishing the Health Unlimited Hurricanes as
a recognized and respected program throughout the state.

Health Unlimited Hurricanes HUHU is a registered team with United States Swimming (USS). Swimmers are
registered members of USS & compete in the Maryland Swimming Conference (excluding non-competitive tracks).

Competing at BB Time Standards & Above
Proficient at all 4 competitive strokes
4-day practice commitment a week
8 meet minimum participation requirement
Practice Sessions:
Monday - Thursday 7:15pm 8:45pm
Saturday 8:30 10:00am (except meet weekends)
