Chair Yoga Returns on Thursday, January 17th – 11:30am – 12:15pm
Chair Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support.
Chair Yoga is an excellent alternative to the traditional yoga we know, and is a growing option for seniors as well as those unable to participate in a traditional yoga class due to health or physical issues.
- Enhances Respiratory Function: Concentrates on inhaling and exhaling filling the lungs to capacity and then exhaling to empty out all the stale air for better breathing technique
- Improves Flexibility and Strength: Allows the body to transition through gentle movements and static holds increasing strength and movement
- Creates a Sense of Centering: Uses the body’s core to create balance and the mind to embrace acceptance
- Reduces Stress: Relieves blood pressure, anxiety, sleep and other health concerns
